New user on 4.2.22 - how best to use?

I am finally migrating from VideoReDo and trying to wrap my head around the UI and how it wants me to do things.

There are some elements which seem to not be working 100% or counter-intuitive - for example:

• I usually record 30 minutes pre/post in case the sender wants to move things around - the AutoCut feature is supposed to remove "incomplete" shows based on the start/end and then 90% complete - how do I get that to work? This does not seem to be functioning, or is there a button somewhere to make it work?
• The software correctly identifies show data based on the program guide - is there a way to click on the show name and have the other shows automatically cut?
• Cutting seems to be keyboard ony? Is there a way to use the mouse wheel to scroll back/forwards thru the stream to find potential cut areas?

Could you post the log to that recording, so we can see what information is available and how TS-Doctor assigning the cut areas?
To get a log, just click on "Check only" after the AutoCut is finished. TS-Doctor will create a log file (source_filename_check.log) in the same directory as the source file.

On the right-hand side, you can click on a clip you want to remove and then press the "Delete" key on your keyboard, or click the minus button below the clip list, or right-click and select "Remove Entry."
Alternatively, you can click the floppy disk icon to view an overview of how the clip segments are distributed across the individual files, then click one of the blue bars and select "Delete."


Mouse wheel should work if your mouse is over the video. Windows sends the mouse wheel movements to the application/component the mouse is over.

Attached is the log file - you can see from the screenshot that previous/post shows are not being identified for removal, and the proposed cut list is just top to bottom for the entire file.

Using the floppy icon gets me a proposed list including 45 minutes of Dragon Ball, plus the Monsters thing - I was trying to click on the name and then drop unneeded segments before going into the proper commercial search. The blue resize bar will let me move it but then just snaps back?

Regarding mouse - I was trying scroll on the timeline and not on the video - however the scrolling is really painful vs VideoRedo - is there a way to increase buffer size for that? The video is on GBE to a remote SSD.

Try to use "video analysis" instead of "aspect ratio" for better commercial search results on that German channel. If there are no commercials between two shows, it's difficult to separate one show from another. If there are no commercials at all, as some channels have no add at night, try to use "EPG mode", remove the unwanted areas and move cut in and the cut out to appropriate positions.

To adjust the cut in, find the beginning of the show and then press the button to the left of the time display.


For the cut-out, follow the same steps, but at the end, use the button on the right.
