Cut file crashes receiver

I lately encountered an issue where some recordings after having cut them (not sure if the original uncut video also had that issue) will crash my VU+ Duo 4K and also my Dreambox 8000.
This is very strange, the crashing happens when in the user interface of the recorder I move to that particular recording.
I tried to rewrite the file with Videoredo, and even then it still crashes both receivers.
It will either make them hang, or they will reboot.
Doing an error check on the recording with TS Doctor does not show any errors.
Any idea what could cause this behaviour?

I still have a recording that has this issue.

Check the file with TS-Doctor and post the log, please.

Here is the log file, it does not produce any errors.
BTW: I can play the recording on my PC, or directly on the TV, but my Enigma2 decoders crash when browsing through the files when they reach this recording.

Maybe there is a problem with the additional Enigima files .ts.meta, .ts.ap, .ts.sc, .eit .

Check .meta and .eit with TS-Doctors Enigma Tools and try to recreate .ts.ap and .ts.sc.

You are right that it was one of those other files that causes this.
What I did was: move all files, except for the .TS file to another folder, and then the receiver did not experience any problems when browsing or playing the video.
Simply copying the .EIT file back and browsing to it got me back to the hanging of the receiver.
I had no idea an .EIT file could cause this.
But using the EIT editor I don't see what's wrong with it, it doesn't say this EIT file is corrupt or anything, however if I want to change anything to it, it says "Stream-Lesefehler".

Cypheros

Could you post the EIT file in question?

OK, looks like the EIT file is from an external source and invalid. Maybe there was an error during the import.

If I use edEIT to open the file there is a warning:

Where do I get edEIT?
Is this a separate tool?

Cypheros

It's a small free tool from juanito_perez at i-have-a-dreambox.com.

You can finde the tool in the attachement.

I tried it, and after saving the file with the tool, the recording opened perfectly.
I had no idea an EIT file could cause this behaviour.
It would be interesting to implement this as extra tools in TSDoctor.

Apologies for posting in English in this German forum but can I just say I have the same issue.

In my case the eit file is created with a collection of other files (.ts, .ts.meta etc..) generated when a TV recording is made from a set top box running enimga2 (OpenATV). I also now use the edEIT program instead to create a .eit file which I have to create there from scratch.

It would be great if TSDoctor was enhanced to be able to read these .eit files (that are invalid in some way) and do some kind of background transformation to them so they can be imported in to the TSDoctor eit editor. Alternatively if it was possible to create a .eit file from scratch using the TSDoctor eit editor. I don't think this is currently possible?

This isn't a show stopper but I wonder how many people actually use the TSDoctor eit editor since it is not very flexible in accepting different .eit formats.

Cheers.

Cypheros

No apologies needed, we are supporting in English, too. At least we're trying. ;D

If you have problems with special eit or meta files, we can try to enhance the supported format range, if you could provide samples and explain, what the exact problems are.

TS-Doctor can create sc and ap files, eit and meta files will be updated during the processing of a recording.
